BMW ICOM Next vs Super ICOM Pro N3+

 The Super ICOM Pro N3+ is the 2023 new BMW ICOM alternative since all ICOM A2/Next clones are discontinued.

In Sum:

ICOM Next is a specific BMW dealer level diagnostic scanner. The clone uses different solution, so it cannot scan non-OBDII olders models nor motorcycles.

Both Super MB Pro N3 and ICOM Pro N3+ are multi function devices. They adapt original ICOM solution which allows firmware update from ICOM server.

Apart from BMW ICOM function, the ICOM Pro N3+ can be used as DoIP and J2534 device as well.

N3+ has a one-key switch button to freely switch between ICOM software and J2534/DoIP software.

 

To use N3+ as a DoIP device:

Connect N3+ with laptop via USB cable, long press the one-key switch button on the N3+ main unit, if USB and WiFi indicators on the main unit flash, search N3+ ICOM wifi and pair with password: 123456789, starts ODIS/Xentry/ICOM software to scan DoIP models.

To use N3+ as a J2534 passthru for HDS TIS ODIS SDD etc:

First install the corresponding software driver, then install monogoose j2534 for super icom pro n3+.

Select passthru as ISO J2534 device.

Connect N3+ with USB cable, long press N3+ switch button for 3s, if USB and WiFi indicators on the main unit flash, software is ready to use.

How to Install?

autoinstaller, no activation needed
installation is very simple, there is an installer, it couldn’t be easier if you can read.

 

ISTA Standalone

* fix ICOM connection with enabled “Ethernet as preferred communication channel…”
* Reject fake FSC’s disabled permanently.
* disable CheckSystemRequirements is now possible in ISTAGUI.exe.config. (Windows 7 not supported)
* enable programming with ENET is now possible in ISTAGUI.exe.config (at your own risk.)
* (support removed due to incompatibility) Diagnose for J29 (Toyota Supra) is now always enabled.
* read FASTA Data from Vehicle is disabled in ISTAGUI.exe.config
* if you use my Regfiles, open it with Notepad and change the InstallLocation to the right Location on her PC. (not needed with Installer)

– for Diagnose only, neccessary SQLiteDBs GLOBAL(required), en-GB(required), de-DE(optional) and BLP(required) in the same patchVersion as App (example 4.39.2x).
– for Programming is SDP needed, using older or newer Versions allowed.

Step to install and register Esys Plus 3.8.1 software
1. Install e-sys 3.35.3.
2. Install e-sys plus3.8.1.
3. Run e-sys for first time, and then close it.
4. Run e-sys plus, add the e-sys shortcut and then “launch e-sys”.
5. Copy all files in “keygen” folder to the installation location of e-sys plus.
6. Run HardwareID38.exe and copy the request code and afterward close table.
7. Run EsysPlus38KeyGen.exe and paste the request code on last step.

New Super MB Pro N3 has better software compatibility and more stable firmware than ICOM Next clone.

 Super MB Pro N3 can do BMW motorcycles, ICOM next clone does not.

I got a problem with the bmw icom next (item#SP269-D). It is in "Firmware" status and cannot be selected. Any solution?

Solution:

BMW ICOM next sp269-d use VXDIAG solution. Download and install VX Manager driver. Then update firmware in vx manager.

How to Change 2022.06 BMW ICOM ISTA-D Language?

 06/2022 BMW ICOM ISTA-D 4.35.20 and ISTA-P 3.70.0.200 are multi-language enabled.  2022.06 ista-d language change is different from older versions. If failed to change the language, follow the guide below to fix it.

 

Software is in Win10 x64bit HDD/SSD format.  It is compatible with BMW ICOM Next, VXDIAG VCX SE BMW and Godiag V600 scanners.

 

How to Change ISTA-D language?

ISTA-D Language: Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Sweden, Thai, Turkish

 

Open Language Install folder on the desktop

Open delete all language pack.cmd

Extract the language pack you desired i.e French. Extract install-French.rar to C:/EC-APPS/ISTA/SQLiteDBs

Merge BMW Language Fix program on desktop

Open BMWGroup ISTA program on the desktop

Select Tool tab- Client settings

Select the corresponding language.

The language has been changed to French.

Exit ISTA-D and run again.
